ZAZEN TOMORROW (January 20, 2007)
I just wanted to make sure everyone knows there will be Zazen at the Hill Street Center in Santa Monica on Saturday January 20, 2007 at the regularly scheduled time. But I will not be there. There's a link to your right with all the detials.

I'm interested in what Brad has to say too, but let me stick in my two cents' worth.
Back when I was in colleg, a Japanese Zen monk came and gave a talk. The one thing I remember him saying (it was a long time ago) is that some people say Zen is remaining unaffected if your house burns down and family dies. But that's wrong. In that case Zen should cry.
Dealing with a problem implies that there's some separation between you and the problem. In Zen you deal with a problem by becoming the problem.
It's interesting to look at why we're even interested in what happens when we die in the first place. I'd have to say that what I really want to know is if it will be pleasant for me or not, and if not what can I do to aviod that?
